Roskilde - Day 8

Roskilde Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

My trip to Denmark and Sweden in March 10-18, 2007. One reason for the trip was to find and photograph the town of Lönstrup where one of my ancestors emmigrated from.

Roskilde - Day 8

On our last full day as tourists in Denmark, we made the trip to Roskilde to see another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Roskilde Cathedral, and the Viking museum.  Much like yesterday, it was extremely windy while we were in Roskilde and it was a bit chilly, but both places we were going allowed us to spend time inside out of the wind.  The Viking museum had several recreated Viking ships outside and more inside that were dug out of a fjord several years ago.  The Domkirke was under renovation on the exterior, so there was not much to see outside.  Inside, however, was as impressive as any cathedral I've seen in Europe.
