Almost ready for departure... Haute Nendaz, Here we come!!
After a
good night sleep, the following morning we had an easy hour and a half drive up
the mountain to our apartment. That meant more beautiful landscape. Especially,
the nearer and nearer we got to our destination. Between Lausanne and Montreux
the view over Lake Geneva is gorgeous and the mountain ridges are spectacular.
Although the weather forecast had shown a lot of grey, snowy days, it was
nothing but clear blue skies today :)
We arrived
reasonably early in the morning, which meant our apartment wasn’t available
yet. Not that it mattered, oh no, we counted on it. It is one of the most
important reasons why we have an overnight stay near our destination. Well
rested, and because the apartment still needs to be cleaned, you immediately
can go skiing. So, most of the group members did just that. Together with two
others, I roamed the village to find the best (and most reasonable priced)
grocery stores to buy life’s necessities.
After shopping, I checked in on behalf of the
group. I took a few photos of the view, the apartment itself and after choosing
a bedroom I unpacked my worldly possessions. In the late afternoon / early
evening we were treated to one of the best and most spectacular mountain
sunsets I had ever seen. Of course I took some photo to prove it :) Have a look
yourself!
We were with a large group so, many of the costs were split nine ways. The only expensive thing was the skilift card, but that's because we had access to such a large area (4 valleys).
