Snorkling at the Great Barrier Reef.

Had a good few days in Cairns. Met up with Dave and Adam from school who were working here which was nice. Had a while wandering the city and also some shopping fitted in. Did a horse treck on Saturday in the afternoon. Was pretty tired on the bus there so was dosing for the first hour but everytime i opened my eyes we were still in Cairns, took us and hour to find everyone for the trip, ridiculous, like stuck in a time warp or something! Good fun once there though, nice scenery ( if a little damp, we thought Cairns would be a last tan topping up place), saw lots of Turmite mounds. The funny thing was is I was taller than my poor horse, we all thought it looked  bit like a mangy donkey! Watched half the england match in the evening but then to bed to conserve energy for tomorrow.

On Sunday we went for a day trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Stopped at 2 spots. Was really amazing. Beautiful coral and loads of really bright coloured fish like I've only ever seen in an aquarium. Say a big sting ray. Poor Pippa got stung by a blue bottle jellyfish on her lip. When she came up gasping in pain, I made helpful suggestions like "here give me your foot" (thinking she had cramp) but redemed myself by remembering my emergency snorkel signals and getting boat to pick her. Sting faded and we decided that it could have a similar effect to Botox, so alls well that ends well. A last meal out in the evening with the 7 of us and a little dance. Considered staying up until flight but opted for a couple of hours kip instead.
