Spent all day today travelling to Krabbi. First a taxi, then boat, then a random trailer bus thing, thena local bus which was boiling and people took buckets of fish on, thought it would be 10mins but actually over 2 hours! Then a tuktuk and then a coach and then another trailer bus thing. Eventually found a place to stay in krabbi Grabbed some thai food with another canadian guy, incidentally with the same name as the one from yesterday! The food was pretty spicy, at points I lost the ability to breathe!Went to a cool cocktail bar, coast about 1.30 for a cocktail, bargain i'd say!
Instead of going to stay on Phi Phi decided to do a boat trip there today. Speed boat which was pretty cool. Stopped at loads of islands and beaches and places to snorkal, loads of bright coloured fish. Saw where they filmed the beach, pretty busy though, not the deserted island like in the film! Met quite a few other travellers on the trip which was cool. Really hot, can feel the burn on my back, have improved the dodgy tanlines with some in another directions- good effort!
When on a kayaking trip this morning through the Mangroves and some on the sea. Really beautiful scenery, lagoons, canyons etc... At one cave we stopped at there were loads of monkeys, one was swimming and one jumped onto someone's boat. I would not let our boat go near the monkeys! I don't think monkeys like me they look at me with evil in their eyes! Also saw a mini crocodile thing but I'm not quite sure what it actually was.
This afternoon we got the bus and boat to Koh Pha-ngan. Were told we would be picked up just before 4 to get the bus at 4, this happened and were then taken to another bus stop where it turned out the bus would come at 5. Eventually crammed into this tiny mini bus and driven to another town. As the mini bus slowed down I was saying to Matt that I felt sorry for whoever had to get out here as it was pretty deserted. It turned out that we all had to get out here and wait an hour for a lift to the jetty to get the boat. We got the night boat, sailed at 11pm and gets in about 6am. There are just loads of mattresses in a line on the floor and instead of a seat you get a bed, pretty good idea as slept the whole way.
