The Summary

Loltún "Flower Stone" caverns, are 15 miles northeast of Labná ruins on Highway 31. There are both Maya and fossil displays. Maya finds include pottery, shells, stone tools, bas-reliefs, petroglyphs and mural paintings. A Formative Period (600 BC - 150 AD) Olmec style bas-relief carving "The Loltún Warrior" is at the entrance. Murals of hands, faces, animals, geometric motifs and inscriptions date from 150AD - 900AD. Access is by guided tours only. English tours are 11AM and 2 PM daily.
