The annual DC visit with my parents!

In Grateful Memory

Marine Memorial

We decided to venture over towards Arlington and find the Marine Memorial.  I had attempted this before once a few years ago with some friends; we had driven around without directions and failed to find the monument.  This time around, we still did not have directions but we did have a map.  We had two actually so between my mom and I reading the maps, we spotted the memorial.  Unfortunately, getting to it proved to be more difficult as the road that appeared to lead into its parking lot dumped us back on main highway.  It took us a few minutes to get turned around (managed to glimpse the memorial at the Pentagon for 9/11 in the process), but we did make it to a parking spot in the circular lot.

A short walk across the grass and we were standing in front of the Marine Memorial.
