Water Lilies
June 10, 2007
If you are in Paris, a visit to Claude Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny is a quick train ride from St. Lazare and definitely worth the effort. The whole place (house, gardens, etc.) is amazing but the water lilies are beyond spectacular. I found it difficult to get enough. We brought a picnic with us and I was ready to pull out the stinky cheese just to clear out the crowd and get me some viewing space. (I resisted, but it was tough). After a few minutes you totally get what Monet was obsessed with...the flowers are gorgeous and I could see something different from every angle. I could sit for days and still want more.
