We spent a quick weekend in Stockholm, Sweden and were fortunate enough to have a nice sunny day to enjoy the sights.  It was a busy weekend there…there was a ½ marathon and a military tattoo going on.  There were military bands from several countries, although Sweden’s band was the easiest to pick out of the crowd…mostly because they were playing the music of their native superstars Abba.  When thinking of military bands, who doesn’t think Dancing Queen???  I also enjoyed the irony of the spectators of the ½ marathon watching the runners while eating ice cream.  I so fit in here.  We had dinner at a very popular Thai restaurant.  We were told that there would be a 90 minute wait for a table but then we befriended one of the waiters and we managed to get a table outside.  We ended up sharing our table with our two new Swedish friends who practically wrote us a personalized guide to the entire country before we were done!  They were so amazingly friendly...and impressive - they spoke to us in English AND French!  The only negative about the trip was it was too short…but we will certainly go back!
