Dublin
May 27, 2006
As the first weekend away after moving to Paris, Dublin was a treat. It was cloudy and drizzly as expected, which enhanced the experience as we could better appreciate the comfort food at Gallagher's Boxty House as well as all the brightly colored doors. A visit to the Book of Kells is a must and there is plenty of architechture to see as well, if you enjoy wandering aimlessly. We made the obligatory stroll through Temple Bar in all its tourist-y glory and were fortunate enough to escape the madness and find a cute local pub along the river with some excellent live music and where we didn't feel like the oldest people in the room. A great way to spend a weekend.
