Bastille Day
July 14, 2007
Bastille day is the equivalent of July 4th in the US. It begins with a parade on the Champs Elysees with many military vehicles which are around in the side streets of Paris after the parade for people to get a closer look/climb into/take pictures with/etc. and culminates with fireworks over the Tour Eiffel. There was a free concert at the Champs de Mars this year with a man I equate to be the French Elton John (although the British version is superior to the French in the same way French cuisine is superior to British). Once the concert ended, the sky was ablaze with a fireworks show set to music (not the Grucci's but not bad) centered around the Tour Eiffel. How can it not be spectacular?
