Iceland, who wouldn't wanna go here:) I will make a return to this wonderful country but during summer time when the weather is a little more stable :))

The day of arrival

At the airport OSL in Norway

Got up quite early to make sure i got to pack the last things such as toothbrush etc. Also, i have to help Kristoffer "style" his hair lol... Since it was monday morning and winterbreak i thought the trafic would be quite ok for a change but damn was i wrong. It was cars everywhere and delays from our airportbus which was taking us direct but i wasn't worried we weren't going to catch our flight on time since i always make sure i've got enough time on my hands. Unlike a woman on the bus who asked the busdriver when we were at least 30 min away from the airport if there was a number to call since her flight was leaving in 20 min. OK inside i was ready to burst out with a big laughter and tell her to sitt down and book a new flight since she wasn't too smart to leave her home on time, but i know that would have been rude so i didn't do that hehehe

Anyways, at the airport we stopped by tax-free to buy Gudny in Iceland a little something such as wine:) Its nice to be able to buy something you know they apreciate instead of some silly thing they might hate:) We had plenty of time and just bought something to eat and drink and chilled.

Kristoffer took my camera and used it a lot before take off lol

The flight wasn't delayed more then 10 min so i was pleased with that considering the weater. Once we got to Reykjavik we got on the FLYBUS (airportbus) and into town where GUdny was picking us up. Then again i wasn't sure if i knew what she looked like since its been 23 years since we last met. Lucky for me we both recognized eachother when she showed up in her car and drove us straight to the Perlan which usually would give you a terrific view of Reykjavik. Unfortnuatly the weather was so bad all we saw was fog and rain with strong winds :) We sat down inside and had some toast to just fill our bellies a little before heading back to her house. Before she did she drove quickly through some parts of Reykjavik just to show us here and there:) Once at her house we all satt down and chatted a bit.

OSL.. Still Oslo but right before take off
She was really happy that we had finally taken a trip across the sea to visit. Like she said its been 23 years and i've promised i won't wait that long again until next time we arrive but that will be during the summer so we at least won't get the snow we had now. After all winter back home in Norway never seems to go away lol

Big Car and fun, but a little pricy
After surfing the internet for sometime i came across this site which to me seemed to be the most resonable price and looked like a serious website with lots of info and photos as well. THere were of course other websites that looked great too, but this is the one i ended up booking.
They picked us up right on time at our address where we were staying and along with my son and i there were a couple from Israel that also had booked the tour. So we were 4 total excluding the driver of course:)

He took us on the GOlden Circle Tour that we booked but of course it was easier to take things at our own speed since we didn't have to catch a bus. The driver also drove a little outside the roads since that was "boring" for boys with big toys lol... Kristoffer my son loved it of course and had the biggest smile ever on his face. We came to a road where it was flooded and you could barely see the yellow sticks that are placed along the roads. We stopped and he startet slowly to drive into the water.
Well, this is just supposed to be a review not the story of our drive so all in all it was just a great experience and i would recommend others doing this as well if they have the time and wants to do something different then sit on a bus driving around.
Kristoffer sitting in the front:)
