A good friend of mine and I went on a trip to Barcelona. We spent three days there and it was awesome! No kids, no husbands, just the girls getting away from it all! After checking in to our hotel, we walked around a little getting familiar with what was around our hotel. After lunch we headed to the famous La Rambla street. This street is lined with shops and street performers. Before we knew it we made the complete walk to the Colom, which is located near the coastline. We walked around the harbor and took some time to sit and enjoy the fresh air of the Mediterranean Sea. We went back to the hotel to freshen up and then headed to dinner and for Sangria! The second day is when we did all our major sightseeing. We took a double-decker bus around and we hopped on and off all day.
Park Guell - a must see!
We did some exploring by foot as well. This is the day I went up in the sky lift!! Chanel was a great support through this! If it wasn't for her, I surely would have chickened out! The reward was the beach at the end! It was so peaceful! It was pretty funny when I unintentionally distracted Chanel just before the waves overtook her feet! This was quite entertaining for all those around us! LOL That evening is kind of a blur! I do know we had a lot of fun though! The last day we walked along part of the La Rambla again. Then we headed to the bus terminal and left our bags there. From there we headed to the Arc De Triomp. Not nearly as impressive as the one in Paris but it was still pretty neat. From there we headed to a huge park (Parc de la Ciurtadella). We spent the rest of the day lounging around this park, soaking up the sun and the warm weather before we had to make our journey back home. After a stop at a bakery/ice cream shop, we headed back to the bus terminal. We found a small park there and decided to stay a little longer before heading to the airport. I came home with a lot of cool treasures and discovered things I never knew about Spain! I fell in love with the mosaics that are a vast part of Barcelona's architecture! It adds a certain charm to an already breathtaking city. I look forward to exploring more of Spain someday!
