The flight to Houston was short ... and hot, with that weather and the sun still strongly hitting the tiny Embraer jet. As we were in Kansas City airport very early we were promoted on an earlier flight (leaving an hour earlier) than our planned flight. That was rather great Continental Airlines service, especially as they wrote off our luggage check-in fees once I asked about and about the fact that we were going to fly internationally with a partner airline once in LAX.
With luck we were put on an earlier flight because as we landed in Houston, the arrival board showed that our original Continental flight from Kansas City was being delayed and we would not have arrived on time to catch our connection to LA. We were wondering a bit about our bags though, were they travelling on our original flight or did they make it with us?
We tried to gather information about it but it was a little difficult to be sure, so we just decided to wait and see until LAX.
We had a good over 2h to kill at Houston International and just took upon us to walk around the terminal. At some point we were getting hungry and went to the food court. Then how random was it for Megan to run into her ex-boyfriend and his family. I don't know, it was a little annoying in some ways and awkward in other ways. What do you say? Anyhow, I did not do much more than just concentrate on what we would get to eat until finally everyone disappear to their own 'flight to catch' task.
I have no idea what that will have brought to Megan's thought despite that she said she didn't necessarily care. But well, I let it go. So we ate a burrito and went back to our gate taking a tasty smoothy at a stand nearby. Time literally flies rather quick at airport and it was not long before we were ready to board and depart.
The following flight to LAX was larger and taking longer. It was also flying into the night so we landed at LAX a little before midnight. I snoozed a bit during the flight and did not remember much of it, did we have a snack? Probably something little?
Once we landed at LAX, what a mess!
The airport terminal was under reconstruction and it was like a labyrinth going through the passageway between the working area. We were trying to do quick for two reasons, we wanted to find the luggage quick and know if they made it (though we thought we saw them deboarding the plane) and it was late and we had to get to Anaheim.
Everything went better than expected, we got our bags and walked out trying to wonder how we would catch our shuttle bus to our hotel in Anaheim, luckily we found them just out in the parking lot (and we had prepaid) so all we had to do is wait until it come and go on.
The drive to Anaheim was long, from freeway to freeway, you realise very quickly how vast greater Los Angeles is.
