It was raining in Tagbilaran City when we arrived. Cebu Pacific flight was delayed again, but since we had made an earlier reservation to our hotel, we chilled out at ICM (Island City Mall)and took our lunch first. Trike fare from the airport to ICM is 50 pesos. We headed then to the terminal, just infront of ICM and boarded a jeep to TAWALA. Running on a tight budget, we'd have to wait for 30mins or so in the terminal and pay 20 pesos each for the trip. Trikes can actually transport you to ALONA for 250 pesos.
We arrived at ALONA grove around 4:30pm in which to our dismay, the resort manager gave our room to another tourists thinking we will not arrive as we are 2 hours late.
No activities left for the day , so we just took our dinner at a nearby carinderia, paid around 250 pesos for 6cups of rice and 2 chicken leg.
I woke up around 5:30am, headed to the beach and see that the sun is out. I went back to the resort and had to wake up my bf so we can do the water activity. We had our breakfast first, at restaurant by the beach , meal is at 100 pesos for one pc longganisa, one fried egg and one dried fish, not to mention hot coffee.
We rented the boat for 1500 pesos and instructed Kuya to go to Balicasag Island and Puntod or Virgin Island. It was a long journey, 30-45 mins before we hit the shores of Balicasag. I then searched for the tree i found in the internet, we took some pictures first. Found a new and old watch tower before plunging to the heat of the sun. Snorkelling was kind of expensive in this area.
Snorkelling guides are essential, they will definitely be there to watch over your shoulder when you are busy in the water. We paid Kuya Erwin 300 pesos just for watching us..that's 150 pesos per person. Snorkelling gadgets are for rent at 150 pesos but we haggled and made it 250 pesos for 2. Do not forget to rent protection for your feet.
At around 11 am , we decided to hop to Virgin Island. Eversince I saw its picture in the internet I have always wanted to go there. So off we go and just enjoyed the view. We walked on the sandbar and completed the whole island in about 20mins or so, a lot of stopping in between for picture taking. Sand is so fine. it's better than in BBC or Panglao Island Nature Resort and SPA. I'd say Puntod Island is better than Camiguin White Island.
3rd day: Sagbayan Peak
We left Alona at around 8am and headed to Sagbayan Peak. The road was not too friendly after passing Carmen. It's a rough ride and we had our feet murdered with all the mud.
4th day : Bohol Beach Club
This considered to be the last adventure. It was raining so hard at that time. We can barely see the road. Good thing Kuya Loloy lent us raincoats to make it to the bad weather. Entrance fee at BBC is 350pesos on a fri sat sun with 250pesos consummable. Entrance Fee is a lot cheaper on Mon-Thur at 250 pesos with 150 pesos consummable food and drinks.
After taking pictures and swimming at the pool , we head off to BQ mall to buy pasalubong. There are not much to buy in ICM, BQ got all the stuff you need for pasalubong.
one whole pack (composed of 16 small packs)of peanut kisses is at 120 pesos I think .. Kalamay at 35 pesos Large size. You might want to trybaked polvoron as well.
