Planning the trip
Ever since I moved to the U.S. I wanted to visit Puerto Rico. I didn't have many friends from there but I was interested in the culture, food, and salsa dancing. I have a friend at work and she starting showing her pictures from her trips at least twice a year! I asked her to take me next time with her. Before she went back, one of my closest friends from Colombia (now living in D.C.) asked me if I would go to Puerto Rico while she attended a conference!! I said YES! to free hotel and the plane ticket was only $300. We paid the first nights before her conference at a different hotel that my Puertorican friends recommended (Caribe Hilton).
We always heard everything was expensive so we packed cereal bars for breakfast and we didnt want to gain more weight than the mojitos and pina coladas alone will make us! We were so excited that we didnt stop talking about the trip for at least 2 months- time of the reservations.
My flight was @ 7am! I woke up very early and my dad took me to the airport. My flight was a little less than 3 hrs. My friend got there form D.C an hour later. I waited @ the airport and then took a 20 min taxi to the hotel. This first day didnt rain!!!! after that rain all week long :(
