My second trip to Australia. This time I celebrated Christmas on the Sunshine Coast, flew to Melbourne, drove the Great Ocean Road, and celebrated New Years in Sydney.

The Daily Grill LAX
The Daily Grill LAX on the mezzanine level of the Tom Bradley International Terminal is quite a restaurant. It is not a typical food court restaurant. It is a full service restaurant with one hell of a menu. You can sit down and eat a great meal in a relaxed environment away from the hustle and bustle of the airport.

The restaurant was not busy when I got there and I was seated promptly in my choice of seating. I ordered a bottle of San Pellegrino and the grilled salmon for the main course. I was not hungry enough to eat an appetizer. After I finished the salmon, I ordered a New York cheesecake with a strawberry topping.

The food can only be described as heavenly. Everything had so many flavors and was such a treat. It was a welcome relief to eat such a meal before I boarded my plane for Sydney Australia.

The Daily Grill is a great place to eat and it was a surprise to find such a place in an airport. I highly recommend stopping here before getting on your plane to points unknown.

Courtyard By Marriott Los Angeles Hotel
It was a nice place, but the location was not. The hotel was very far from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and this caused some problems. It all started when I got off the plane. I exited the terminal and headed for the hotel shuttle bus stop. A shuttle arrived shortly and I got on. Unfortunately, it was a shuttle bound for the Courtyard Marriott LAX, which I thought was my hotel. It turns out I was wrong, but the shuttle driver told me the correct shuttle would be along shortly and he dropped me off back at LAX. I waited for 20 minutes, gave up, and hailed a taxi. It cost me $20 dollars to get to the hotel. I found out the next morning that this particular hotel does not have an airport shuttle.

My first impression of the hotel was tainted by this waste of time, but the hotel itself was great. The room was very luxurious, for the price, it had a comfortable bed and access to hundreds of TV channels with Direct TV.

The hotel has a pool and a weight room, but I arrived at 11 pm and checked out the following morning, so I did not try them.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the location of the hotel really hurts the recommendation.
