Walking Along the Aura

As we were staying at the Radisson right on the Aura, we were able to take scenic walks along the river. It was interesting to visit Turku at this time of the year as there was very little going on as compared to summertime, when the restaurant/bar boats are bustling with people having fun. It was almost like going to an entirely different city.

As you walk along the Aura River there is still much to see: Turku Cathedral, houses along the river, many ships and boats, and sculpture. There are several places to stop for food and drinks along the Aura, but we always make time to take a walk down to the Grilli (see photos) for a snack.
