famous chicken and rice...so delicious
After dealing with a couple of delays in Jakarta I had finally arrived in Singapore. I was very very happy to be in Singapore. Everything looked beautiful from the airplane and it was even better when i was at the airport terminal. All of the signs were in English, everything was super clean and things were very up to date. This is by far the best airport i have ever been to. My friends cousin who i was staying with picked me up at the airport. We took the bus (super clean i might add) to the bus/train terminal. From the terminal we took the train (also super clean) to another bus terminal. There we got on the bus that took us to my friends apartment. I unloaded my bags and decided i wanted to explore the city. By this point my cold had gotten worse so i was sneezing like crazy.
We took the bus to the train terminal which took us to SunTec City Mall in downtown Singapore. It was a very huge and very nice mall. I think this was also the nicest mall i've ever seen. After eating some of the world famous and delicious chicken and rice we headed to check out the beautiful Singapore skyline. The city is spotless, everything is strategically placed and from what i can see this city is a well oiled machine. The skyline is breath taking with views of the Esplanade, Merlion and the big ferris wheel with water on one side and the rest of the city on the other. That night Singapore was hosting the first F1 race in that city. The track setup looked like something you see in a video game. I did not get to see F1 race cars run but there were Mercedes Benz and BMW cars doing test runs on the track.
After taking what seemed like a thousand pictures hunger kicked in and we ate seafood next to the river. I had Stingray which was pretty tasty. After walking around the city some more we decided to call it a night and headed home.
The next day i was on my own. I decided to go see the rest of the city. Not thinking ahead i didnt even carry a map with me so i got somewhat lost. I walked around for a while seeing parts of the city that i normally would not have been to but since i was lost i wandered around until i finally made it to a place i recalled. Being exhausted from walking around and dealing with a cold i decided to go back home.
The following day was more exploring around. I went to another mall and saw a couple of other parts of Singapore.

I later met up with my friend who decided we should go see Sentosa park. This is a very beautiful tourist spot. You take a 'sky train' ride to the island where its full of touristy things. I went up on the Tiger tower and took lots of pictures from up there. When we were done with that we made our way to China town so get some Chinese food and buy some souvenirs. After that we headed back home.
My last day in Singapore was pretty uneventful. I was exhausted from being sick so i was struggling to find energy to do things. I woke up just in time to get on the bus that would take me back to the airport to head back to Jakarta.
My days of exploring Singapore had come and gone.

vies from under the worlds biggest fountain
After getting back to Jakarta following our Bali trip i took the next two days as time to recover from the traveling. I was able to visit Monas (National Monument) which was very cool. Once we made it to the top of Monas (there is a flame made of gold at the top of the monument) we were able to see most of Jakarta from up there. It was a really great view but the thing you noticed the most was the pollution in the city. The next day my friend booked me a ticket to go from Jakarta to Singapore for 4 days. I had been invited to go snorkeling at another island by my friends brother but i did not go because I am a terrible swimmer and i had always wanted to visit Singapore.
The day of my flight to Singapore i started to catch a cold. Early in the morning i was taken to the airport by my friends driver. I was dropped off at the terminal and after going through security and standing in line i found out i was at the wrong terminal. I had to catch a cab go to the next terminal which was a few minutes away. As luck would have it by the time i arrived at the terminal i had found out that my flight had already taken off. I had to pay an extra $30 dollars and wait an additional 3.5 hours to get on the next plane to Singapore.
I did not like dealing with the Jakarta Airport, by far that is the worst experience i have had at any airport.
