Two weeks ago I had a minor sore throat. I was able to suppress it quickly with a large dose of herbal, flower and green teas, spicy soups, extra rest and my daily dose of red wine. Last Thursday it crept back up on me.
Friday night I went shopping for some winter hiking gear. I got some pretty good stuff at a discounted price. A new jacket, some pants, a cover for my burner, some pots, extra socks and a new hat. Afterwards, I went to a jimjilbang (sauna house) and relaxed in the sea salt bath for a while. I boarded the bus with my friends and was off to the steepest national park in the country. We arrived at about 3 am and began our ascent. I opted not to go for a long hike cause I feared my minor sore throat may turn into something much worse. I finished my portion of the hike with some others and headed back down for some lunch. We found a nice grassy spot to lay down on and nap for a couple of hours. I woke up from my nap and did not feel well at all. We walked into the hotel and had some 8,000Won tea and coffee. I had to excuse myself from the group and find a place to lay my head. Once we were back on the bus, I had myself a bag of oranges, ate the whole bag and passed right out. I slept most of the way back and wish I would have slept 100% of the ride. It was a rough ride back for me.
