Sunghee, she brought me medicine when I was sick
We had field day at my school and come to find out, this is a Korean tradition performed at all public schools. I was not feeling very well on this day and did not hang out outside too much. I read a little bit and slept on the couch for about 5 hours. I need my rest because I was planning to go hike Seoraksan with my hiking group. I took some pics of the students and of the art teacher and his gallery he was displaying from some of his trips to Nepal. He has displays there as well because some of his inspiration came from an artist of the region.

Two weeks ago I had a minor sore throat. I was able to suppress it quickly with a large dose of herbal, flower and green teas, spicy soups, extra rest and my daily dose of red wine. Last Thursday it crept back up on me.

Friday night I went shopping for some winter hiking gear. I got some pretty good stuff at a discounted price. A new jacket, some pants, a cover for my burner, some pots, extra socks and a new hat. Afterwards, I went to a jimjilbang (sauna house) and relaxed in the sea salt bath for a while. I boarded the bus with my friends and was off to the steepest national park in the country. We arrived at about 3 am and began our ascent. I opted not to go for a long hike cause I feared my minor sore throat may turn into something much worse. I finished my portion of the hike with some others and headed back down for some lunch. We found a nice grassy spot to lay down on and nap for a couple of hours. I woke up from my nap and did not feel well at all. We walked into the hotel and had some 8,000Won tea and coffee. I had to excuse myself from the group and find a place to lay my head. Once we were back on the bus, I had myself a bag of oranges, ate the whole bag and passed right out. I slept most of the way back and wish I would have slept 100% of the ride. It was a rough ride back for me.
