So last night I called the game early at the bar...I met my friend Yeji, whom I got to know at the crab festival (she's the good lookin one in the pics), at the subway station in Suwon. We went to a bar and put back a few Hoegardens. She had to go shortly after midnight so she could catch the last bus to Seoul. So I went upstairs to the "foreign" bar in Suwon, Crazy Duck, where some of my friends were getting their drink on...not really my scene. A lot of douche bags...a lot...kinda reminded me of the Itaewon scene. A few too many military guys there grinding on any girl they see. It makes me sad to see the girls who fall for this, but for the rest with a bit of self-respect.

..let's just say they made me look good at the bar, hehe. I couldn't stay there long cause the guys there were giving me some bad looks, but I didn't want to leave my lady friends there alone cause a few of the guys were being fairly aggressive, so I rounded up the crew and we called it a night. I was able to barter with the cabbie for a cheap ride home..haha, getting good at this I believe :)...even though I was in bad at a decent hour, it was not early enough to get adequate rest for the hike with my hiking group.. So I slept kinda late..I probably needed it anyway after such a long time away traveling and staying up late and waking up early

So, once I got up and had some breakfast I grabbed my pack and headed towards the nearest mountain. Took about 30minutes to walk to the base through the local University.

I found an entry to a trail and went for it. Wasn't a bad hike, a few inclines, but nothing heavy. I found a nice lake where there was an old man fishing, so I sat down there in the middle of the trail and had my little snack and watched him fish for about 20 minutes. I had 2 hard boiled eggs, a banana and some water...after the bees started bothering me, I headed back up the mountain..this time with a bit less enthusiasm for the climb..all-in-all the hike was relatively short, about 2.5 hours. I was trying to find a certain trail that was supposed to take about 5 hours and take me to the other side of Suwon, but I had the whole I can't read the Korean signs on the trail thing going on, so I just kinda headed back in the genera; direction I came from...I stumbled back on the University, but in a different area.

Right off the trail there was an amphitheater with sorta an ancient Roman type feel to it ( see pics)...as I approached it, there was some taekwondo action goin down. I thought it was just a class, but I was actually lucky enough to witness a performance from a black belt group. There were a bunch of little kids in taekwondo training walking into the theater as well so I guess it was like motivation or something for them. It sure as hell made me wanna do some high kicks

Highlights: the triple roundhouse kick; one guy though up two apples, did a backflip, kicked them midair and made applesauce :)  ; a girl beat up 2 guys; one guy beat up 5 guys (kinda seemed like a cheesy kungfu flick at that point); a guy was blindfolded and he walked towards the sound of a bell, jumped up, did a backflip and crushed the apple; at point there were three guys standing on chairs with another guy on their shoulders, then the performer of this particular trick ran over and up another guys back and did a SUPER high kick breaking the board and landed with charisma and style...all of this was done on the concrete ground with no shoes...Later on that day I made it back home and slept for a few more hours, woke up and headed to the coffee shop...I guess I should go home now since they're closing......
