After Arbalou, I head down to the stream.  It’s getting quite hot, and I can’t let this chance for a swim in a clean, mountain stream pass me by…

OK, swimming might be a bit of an overstatement… I do manage to float down a short distance before I crash into a rock—it makes me really wish I had an innertube so I could just ride down the whole way down the stream from Oulmes.  Not Setti Fatna though—you’d have to be a real good kayaker to challenge that stretch… Maybe I’ll come back here sometime with a friend and a couple of inner tubes and give it a try…

I continue on downstream to the town of Azgine.  Not quite as cool as Arbalou—but still fun to explore…

Today’s a Sunday, and it looks like every man, woman and child from Marrakech is coming up to spend their day along the banks of the Ourika river… In cars, collective taxis, on family scooters… It’s a nice feeling to see folks going out to spend the day as a family in such a beautiful place that’s suited for any budget…

I suddenly realize that I’ve explored and parkbenched 9 villages in a pretty small area.

Nine villages that are quite similar to each other.  All of them beautiful and interesting—but there’s the risk that I won’t be able to remember them all individually.  And face it, if I can’t remember distinctly a town that I’ve parkbenched, then it doesn’t count…

So I decide to call it quits for the Ourika region… I have thoroughly experienced it from top to bottom… It’s time to move on…

I catch a ride back to Ourika Proper.  From there I ask about transport up to Oukeimden, the regions famed skiing resort (and a bold type town on my map).  Nobody seems to be going there—which makes me strongly suspect that the town itself doesn’t have much substance to it… and obviously there’s not a lot of skiing going on there at this time of year…

So I get on a bus back to Marrakech one more time…
