The next morning, I realize that I really don’t have time to reach Taroudant, properly explore the region and make the night bus to Casa… so I decide to get on a bus and head un back to Marakech…

The roads have been pretty well cleared, and we make it to Marrakech in good time… There, I turn right around and catch another city bus to Amezmiz, another bold type town to the south…

About halfway, we come to Lalla Takecoust—a village right below a dam and a reservoir.  It looks interesting, so I get off to explore.

Not nearly as impressive as Bin El Ouidane—the reservoir is quite small and the dam isn’t very high… but it is a nice view with snowy peaks in the background…

I walk along the shore of the lake and down the stair along the dam.  There are no signs prohibiting taking pictures of the dam—but I decide not to take my chances.  Across the bridge is the older part of town where the one story houses have long mud brick walls with few windows—kind of looks like a Latin American village more than a Moroccan one…

It’s noontime, and not a whole lot is going on… So I hop on another bus to Amezmiz…
