0295. Another cool little discovery (Mor 128--new)

Instead of continuing on to Midelt, I decided to backtrack to Itzer a few miles back.  So I grab a G taxi heading that way.

Itzer is just a couple of miles of the main road, but it has a real "off the beaten track feel... AND a very cool little Berber medina! 

It's different from any of the medinas I've seen--the mud plastered walls are often crooked and bulging, giving the alleys a Dr Seuss kind of feel--fun to explore and completely undiscovered...

The town climbs partway up a hill where you can get a great view of the surrounding area... Then, looking totally out of place is a walled in compound left over from the French era...

Getting too many stares in town, I decide to take my clip outside town, with snowcapped mountains and a plateau as a backdrop...
