I've got one more day here in the Souss (Agadir) region and I know just where I want to go: Ait Baha

Last February, coming back from Tafraoute, I had to skip over Ait Baha--so now I've go to come and make up for it.    I find a G taxi heading that direction and soon we're chugging up the hills east of Biougra.   Beautiful view--I've never seen this region so green.

It was pouring down rain as we passed through Ait Melloul. It's not raining here in Ait Baha--but I suspect the rain is coming this direction, so I'd better hurry.  I manage to make it down main street and back up through an alley--I'd really like to climb up the hills and take a panoramic clip of the town.

.. but then the rain starts.  Not just the two minute drizzle that we usually get in this area--no it's a reagulay down pour.  The steep streets of the town turn into rushing rivers...

I take refuge in a little cafe--enjoying the jolly atmosphere as locals joke and horse around... all in Berber--never hear a word of Arabic here in Ait Baha...

Finally the rain stops and I head out to explore the town.    It's a picturesque, pleasant village tucked amidst a couple of hills--all painted typical reddish brown.  Despite its small size, I do find a little "industrial sector" with a number of miscellaneous metalworking shops...

I head back down and cross the river and up to the other side.  It looks like the rain could start at any minute and there's no protection on this side--but it looks like I'll be able to take a really nice clip of the town from over here--so I decide to gamble it.

I'll admit, however, that I do rush through my 5 songs a bit...

Having explored and parkbenched and photographed Ait Baha, I'm satisfied and ready to head on my way... I head back do to the G taxi station just as the rain starts up again...

I think I'm going to take a bit of a break from parkbenching for a little while.  Need to spend some time writing and doing more sedentary things.  It's been an amazing and very intense 5 weeks... I don't think I'm ready to close out this blog yet though... Just take a short break and then get back on the road...
