Chemaia has a bit more substance to it that Sooq Khemis, so I take my time wandering all the way to the south end and back again... often followed around by a small troop of kids providing me with entertainment...

There's a small, dirty little park where I figure I could parkbench--but I figure I'll keep going to see if I can find anything better.  A couple of fellows hanging outside a pool hall hollers for me to come over and play some music.  I tell them that I can't compete with the loud music being played in the pool hall... one of them promptly goes inside and tells them to shut the music off... Then they invite me inside to play for the whole gang...

Having a good time there with the Chemaia fellows--but I’m getting hungry.  One of the fellows seems to read my mind "come over to my place for lunch" he insists.

I decide to accept this time and follow him to a simple home where he shows me video clips of a recent demonstration there in Chemaia over troubles in the Middle East.  I kind of doubt that anyone in the Middle East is even aware of protests going on in a tiny Moroccan town on their behalf—but I guess it’s a good way for people to be able to let out their frustration and anger in a non destructive way…

Yet again, I feel privileged at being allowed a glimpse behind closed doors into life here in this otherwise unremarkable little town.
