A relax holiday

@ Bus going to spain

If you promised something to yourself, normally you can’t break it. But this time I broke it.

All the time I said to my family and friends I will never go to a place like Blanes or Lloret de Mar.
When I came back of the internship in Italy a friend asked me if I liked to come with her and some friends to Blanes. My first answer was no, but we were talking about it and I got more enthusiastic so we decided to book. One week later everything was complete, and 6 weeks later we were on the way.

First of all some general information about Blanes.

@ Traffic Jam in France
It’s a town situated in the province Gerona. It is very easy to go to Barcelona. Take a train and in about one hour you’ll arrive at the main station.

Further there is not so much information about this place. Every year there is an festival with fireworks. It’s called: Concurs de Focs d’Artifici. It’s always in the period of the Sant Anna festival.

We were that lucky to see this festival.

Waiting outside until we could drive again
It started at the 22nd of July 2008 and finished at the 27th of July 2008.

When you are interested in some historical buildings or real culture, this is not a good place to go. When I got bored of all the touristic stuff (read: beach and clubs) I decided to walk around in the historical centre which was much better than I’ve expected. Because of the Sant Anna festival there were some different things than normal. As you can see at some of my pictures it happened at a beautiful church. The story I write down is what I’ve heard of a Dutch women, so I’m not sure. To chase away the ghosts there was a dragon fire-spitting and afterwards they went into the city.

Ok, back to my story.

France
21st of July was the day of departure. We had to go by bus, which means a bus ride of about 20 hours.
We were supposed to leave at 10.15am of the Rijnhal in Arnhem. We arrived there a bit before 10.15 since we hate to be late.  Unfortunately the bus came too late and we just left 30 minutes later. The first delay had started.

We should have been in Maastricht at 01.00pm, the place to take the other bus to Blanes. We arrived there bit later and should leave just a few minutes after. It was raining and we did not have shoes on, just some flip flops.

We had another delay of 2 hours, that means that we left Maastricht at about 3.30pm.

Yeah, we were on the way to Spain!

30 Minutes after driving we had to stop for the first time; Police! They had to control some stuff, so had to wait again.

There were some boys in the front of us who were dirty, drinking alcohol did not care about the mess they’ve made. They had some cola and let it fall down at the floor and they did not care my flip flops became dirty, my pillow and bag! I said something about it, that they had to clean it up and say sorry to me. They did not. So two other girls start talking to them, or better say; tell them what to do! But unfortunately they did not listen very well to us. He ‘cleaned’ it a bit but it was still dirty. After a long time he said to the other friend; Hmm I’m sorry, Shall I clean this stuff again? And they did it! We were like.. what is happening?

So, after this problem it was time to sleep. Our last stop was somewhere in France. After we tried to get some sleep. The next morning I ‘woke’ up at 06.30am and I saw that we stood still for such a long time. 30 minutes later, we were at exact the same place. When they heard what happened we could go outside because it would take much longer. There was a big car accident very close to our bus.

France
Some people start playing football at the street, me and the other girls were sitting down and relaxing and walk a bit. Like 1.5 hour later me and Nicole decided to run to the place to watch what happened, but at that moment they came to us that we could drive. They found a solution; all the cars and busses had to drive back and took another way. It was already 08.30 am. We should have arrived at 07.00am that morning. We did not really care because you could enter the hotel in the afternoon, otherwise we had to wait in the sun while we were tired with luggage.

01.00 pm, the time we arrived at the hotel! Finally after 6 hours of delay. I knew I will never go by bus again, no matter which country and how far.
We were very lucky to have some great bus drivers who gave us the possibility to go outside and do some stretching toilet or anything else!

The temperature was very high so we would like to go swimming. But since the boyfriend of Vera and I would change the room, we changed the suitcases as well. It was a very bad idea to change. I did not meet the boys before the holiday, or just say hi, so I did not know they were children like this.

Fighting all the time, throwing things everywhere, try to break some doors and much more. I just wanted some sleep after 48 hours being awake and they did not let me sleep. I decided to go to the hotel room of Vera and Johannes. The next day I took my luggage and didn’t see the boys so many times. Much better!

Everyday was the same. Clubbing, sleeping and went to the beach. There are not so many choices of clubs in Blanes. There is Arena, it’s a big one with two area’s with different kind of music. And just 2 other clubs who are nice to go. All the other are just very  boring or a small pub.
Thursday evening there was a big party planned near Blanes. You had to pay €44,00 to enter and can get the whole night drinks for free. That was the only night I drunk a bit too much. The music was great, the people were great, except my friends, and I’ve had a great night. After I went to the Arena for the after party totally alone, since my friends didn’t wat to go.

The funniest thing is that I’ve said before we left, I did not like to party every night.

All the boys and Vera said they like to go out everything. They did not and I did. Ok, after the holiday I was tired as hell but I’ve done and seen the most things. They just saw their bed and the beach.

At Sunday I went to Barcelona by train with some friends. Since they just wanted to see the football station: Camp Nou, and I did not I decided to go alone and try to see some main sights, even I saw it that year before. This city is beautiful and I just want to go here back.

The bus ride back was much better and I slept some hours. At Wednesday I came home and in the evening I said to my mum I would like to sleep for just one hour, 08.00pm until 09.00pm.
I came downstairs at 09.00pm and my mum told me that I’ve said: I’m so tired, a week of party is not good for your health, I want to go to bed again. And walked upstairs.

The next day I did not remember anything about it. I guess I was sleepwalking.
