I met the amiable Musuem in-charge named Early and inform them that a group coming from different USAID project will visit the Museum between 5 " 6 PM. The museum will close at 5PM, however due to our persistence and their desire to impart the treasure of Butuan City to our guests and visitors, they agreed to extend the visiting hours but up to 6Pm only.
Hospitable as we are, i was very proud of the Museum curator and staffs because they were really exerting efforts to please our visitors which were composed of American, Dutch, Burmese and Filipino nationals. They clean the receiving area, speck and span and made sure that our Museum will look at its best.
We went to the museum at around 5PM. The museum staffs were also armed with the historical lectures during the tour. I was amazed with our tour guides because they spoke straight English fluently and conveyed to us with conviction the origins and culture of Early Butuanon. All of us were awed at the fact that Butuan City truly, deeply and really existed even before there was Philippines! We left the Museum with our token of appreciation but more than that we return to the hotel with pockets full of invaluable knowledge and greater appreciation of Butuanon Culture.
I am proud to be a Butuanon and Agusanon!
