Yes. Finally. After 6 and a half hour drive, we were there. Checking in Feon'ny ala. It was only 14:30u. Way to go! After dropping our stuff, we walked to the entrance of the Perinet Park to check out what to do. It was just a 30 minutes walk, so that wasn't that hard. Taking a look at their beautiful visitors centre we met Fidi. He was a guide and his English was at first appearance reasonably good. Thus, we promoted him to our guide. We told our plans: We like to visit Perinet, Mantadia and we liked to do a nocturnal walk. Maybe it was even possible to contact with Mad'arbres, a company organizing canopy tours. According to Fidi, he could arrange the first two, the other things we had to arrange it by ourselves, because the night walk and canopy tour were clearly separated activities not organized bij ANGAP (what is now called "Madagascar National Parks".

OK, no problem. Tomorrow Mantadia and the day after Perinet and than we will see. Except, there was one little problem: before reaching Mantadia, a trail has to followed by car, for some 60 minutes. The road is than 17 kilometres, so you can image how bad the dirty road would be. And, we did not have a car. Maybe, we could travel together with some other tourists. We had to come tomorrow at 06:00u. and we will see. Accepting the deal, we returned to Feon'ny. I captured my first bird! On camera that is. Really proud and full of excitement we settled us on the terras, ordering a THB GM. After that, having some Chinese food. (Owners are Chinese). We went to our lodge to explore our little home and enjoyed the view over the park. What is terrific! Two hills, one: the hotel with the bungalows, the other: the park covered with a dense green lush.

No city sounds, but jungle noise. Great! As dusk sets in Sabine saw a black spot far away in the trees. Get the binoculars!! Oh my god, we could not believe it! It was a huge distance, but we saw our first Indri Indri's! From our 'balcony'! The thrill did not vanish as we discovered they were sleeping. Who cared? I did not have eat my shoes and hopefully tomorrow we can see more!

It was not all happiness, we found out later. Our bed was bad; old, sunken in and smelled like fungus. We had a bad first night. Eventually, we made some ingenious solutions with some cloths, so we tackled the 2nd problem. The other ones, we had to get use to it.
