A brief night in Krabi....

We were told it would be quite difficult to get off the island with the Thai New Year but after the 3rd night of being in Chaweng we gave it a go and decided to head of to Krabi. On the boat over there I started chatting to a girl called Lucy and she was happy to come to Krabi then go off to Koh Phi Pi. Once we got to the bus station after a short bus ride, we were stranded at the bus station in the dark without anywhere to go. The Thai's seem to know the routine and they have all their cards ready with accomodation to offer to us knowing that we are in the middle of no where in the dark and want to go to bed! We managed to find somewhere to go that would sleep all of us and we only wanted to stay one night as from previous experience - Krabi did not have a whole lot to offer so one night was more than enough!
We got to the place and it seemed nice enough. We weren't quite ready to go to bed yet so we ended up going for a walk into what seemed to be a very quiet town. There was a market on which was just packing up but we managed to find a stall that sold sunglasses and had a right blast trying a fair few of them on! Most of which I looked completely daft in! We were trying to find somwhere to eat but we were there a bit too late so we found some dodgy bar that were offering a buffet and live music. So we gave it a shot but the food was tad dodgy but it was free so it was worth a shot. We stayed long enough to have a drink but then made our excuses to go and we found some backstreet open air food market and we got some rice and noodle dishes followed by a pancake for desert. We ended up getting lost on the way back and tried to read signs but very badly. Made it back in the end!
