Legaspi and CWC

Touring the Philippines during the Christmas 2008 break. Manila (Intramuros and Chinatown), Tagaytay (Taal Volcano), Bohol, Sogod (Alegre), Legaspi, Naga City (CWC), Caramoan (Gota Village).

Legaspi and CWC

On our way to the Caramoan we flew to Legaspi. The idea was to go and admire the Mayon, this perfect conical volcano. But Mayon did not see it that way. It remained hidden behind the clouds...
All we saw were the effects of the mud flow that did so much damage and killed a large number of locals (1200) in 1814. We visited the site of the Kagsawa church that was destroyed during that eruption. More recently, in December 2006 this tragedy was reenacted and 469 people lost their lives.

CWC is located in Naga City. It is the capital of wakeboarding and the gate to the Caramoan.
