It was a beautiful sunday morning in this part of Austria, near Scharnitz, near Austria-German border.
I was travelling to nowhere after renting a car from Munich, Germany and wanted to see the Alps, so ended up in Garmisch Partenkirchen, a peaceful town/city?. Did the most amazing Zugspitze, the Highest Mountain on the German side of Alps. Then, decided to find a hotel. So kept driving as it was still early, with human curiosity in mind and little bit of greed and adventure into the unknowns, kept driving following the Alps mountain line, towards Innsbruck, Austria. Never realized I crossed the borders into Austria.
What view? As trained in Geology, i admired every 'cell' of the rocks and mountains.
Hence, next morning after breakfast, coming to my car, i saw this parade, march to Church on this Sunday beautiful morning with a backdrop of mountains and mists.....amazing. Right infront of my gasthof, they passed, kids, adults, in costumes, horse carts (I especially like the one which carries all beautiful children - in the photos). They were carrying placards, I do not exactly know what it means.
I took pics They did not mind and smiled for me. The parade was a stunning sight, townfolks gathering, mostly farmers parading with families, while others and tourists ( a hooligan like me and others) watched it. I waited until the last one and then looked awhile before driving off back to Germany. They were heading to a beautiful church. What a sunday!!!!!!!!!! Refreshing. Folks were very peaceful looking and enjoys their sunday this way, while I was heading towards OKTOBERFEST.........ha ha ha...guess what they would be thinking, of me rushing back for Beer?? One way of putting it, yeah, but it is not the beer, but the beerfest....ha ha ha...
Truly it is a very wonderful journey into this part of the world. try it, you will lov eit.
