At first, I was not very happy that I had to change my plan and cut my trip in Vietnam short than planned. However, I had to go back as my mom was not very well and she needed her children around. My initial plan was to stay in Vietnam til new year's eve at least. I went back to Brunei on the 26 December. My flight was delayed and I didnt arrive in Brunei until the 27 at 1 in the morning. My adopted mom and my brother were waiting for me at the airport..I felt sorry for them.
My mom had her surgery and it went well. I must admit that I was tempted to fly to Bangkok to celebrate NYE right away but I didnt have the heart to leave my recovering mom so I decided to stay. It was my sister who came up with the plan to celebrate NYE at my parents' house. Im normally very excited about family function, but since we were all happy that mom's well again, I thought that I would maximise my quality time with family to the fullest.
It was going to be a low-key celebration to welcome 2009. Everyone chipped in to buy food, I forgot what I brought lol..typical of me. Anyway, we set up the barbeque. It is normally quiet when we have function like this, we are not talkative bunch, except for my mom, me and my youngest sister. I took out my camera and started taking photos then everyone started to get excited to my surprise lol not that they have never seen a camera before...
