Today we travelled from Cusco with our 6kg bags, our big backpacks where left in the hotel and smaller bags taken to hold our slepping bags and matresses plus clothes for 4 days. The porters on the trail carry these bags for us. We were introduced to our guide for the trip, his name was Juan and his assistant tour guide was called Fernando. they took us on a samll bus to Ollyantambo where we would stay for the night. On the way we stopped at Pisac an ancient Inca site. Here we learned a little about the Inca people, they spoke the language of Quichua but no written laguage was created and so it has been very difficult to delve into their history. Knowlegde has been passed down through generations are families and so we know a little but still alot remains a mistery. Pisac was a good starteing poinfor the trail is gave us an insight of the people and how they made sacrificies of young virgin girls to the sun god in hope of good weather for chops in the coming seasons. From there we heading to Ollantayambo were we spent the night, in the afternoon we explored the site, i was finding it hard to walk up the huge steps and once again my mind thought of of the huge task ahead of me.
