Best View in Cairo
If you are going to visit the pyramids there is no better location or view than the Mena House Oberoi. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful and well cared for even though the hotel is older (built in 1869). Also, the hotel beginning renovations when we were there. The service is top-notch, the pool incredible and their Indian restaurant is probably one of the best worldwide.
My only disappointment was the mattress they used in the rooms...not very comfy. The General Manager, Sanjiv Malhotra, was very accomodating in trying to find a more comfy bed but I think they were all the same. He explained that the mattresses were being upgraded as part of the renovations; so, I'm sure if you go now it will be a 5-star review across the board!!
An absolute must is the Indian restaurant: "The Moghul Room."
Although the hotel is expensive they do run special offers; you may want to check them out:

Worth every penny you'll spend!!
