Dinner in Rudesheim

We arrived in Rudesheim and it was like a ghost town! During the winter, it appears the area pretty much shuts down. Rudesheim is a wine making area along the Rhine River which of course made me a happy camper!
We wandered around trying to find a restaurant that was open and would take five of us...yeah, a little harder than it looked! The first place, although they had just seated people right before we walked in, told us they were closed. We tried another place that couldn't accomodate us and sent us back around the way to a more Italian place. Near it was a small restaurant with people inside so we stopped in there and they gladly seated us.
Since we were in the Rhine Valley which is known for Rieslings, we opted to order a bottle of white. Poor James, he is pretty much a red wine guy. We knew we were going to order a couple bottles so we then ordered a red so James would be happy. He did drink a llittle of the white and we even had to get a picture of him with it to prove that he did it. :-)
After a delicious dinner, we were back on the road again....only a couple more hours still Strasbourg Brett says!
