Get me to a bed..Rapido!
We tried our best at getting up early but it just didn't happen... We got out of bed, got ready and headed towards Fisherman's Wharf. The day was beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was windy and a little cold but just right. We found a parking lot and decided to walk... We ended up parking a little far from the wharf so we decided to catch a ride on a pedicab...for those of you who don't know what those are...it's a cart attached to a bicycle.. the driver pedals and pulls you... dumb explanation..but I tried. The guy who drove us was doing some not so safe stunts...like getting into traffic.... It was a little uncomfortable since it was 4 of us, but fun. He stopped at Pier 39, but before dropping us off he offered to take a picture of us.
On Our Way To the Piers
He was really nice.
Pier 39 is well...a Pier. There's restaurants, and stores galore. You have everything there from a Hard Rock, and ice cream store, fruit vendors, socks store, a carousel, a pearl store, and plenty of San Francisco souvenir shops. There are a lot of spots where you get great views. You can see plenty of sea lion and the famous Alcatraz!
We went to the Alcatraz ticket booth and tried to purchase tickets for the tour but we found out they had sold out for the next 3 days. Boo! Maybe next time. We walked around Pier 39 and went into so many stores and ate so much!!! We decided to leave and go see the Golden Gate Bridge since the night before hadn't been the best experience.
We walked back to the car and drove to a lookout point. It was great.. Some of my favorite pictures were taken there. It was sooooo windy and you can tell by some of the pictures. From the lookout point I could see the a dome shape roof and I was very interested in seeing what it was. It was the Palace Of Fine Arts which is a beautiful place architecurally. Walking through it reminded me of a few movies where I had seen it. It made me feel tiny since the pillars are so tall. It started getting a litle late and we had plans for that night so we took off.. I was looking at our illustrated map and I saw in Bold letters The Crookedest Street In The World
We had enough time to stop by really quick... We found the back street so we could drive down and I must say I felt like a little kid. The view of the city you get at the top is amazing and the street itself is pretty amusing. After we drove down we parked in a red zone, turned on the hazard lights, and ran out to get a great picture. We ran back to the car and started back towards THE CASTRO for what was promised to be a great night... After all it was pride weekend in San Francisco.
On The Pedicab... Kelly hitched a ride On my lap!
We went back to the hotel and showered and got ready to hit up The CASTRO! I couldn't wait... There would be tons of people there. So our friends came down to our room and we started drinking... except for Kelly! Once we had our buzz going we took off. The traffic to get there was awful but it was all worth it because we knew where everyone was headed. We ended up finding an underground parking lot where I knew we shouldn't park but it was super close! So we walked around the Civic Center area and saw so much. We hit up a lot of booths and were in awe of the way some people were dressed. It was craaaaaaaazy! We left there and headed to Castro. We knew we were there when we saw the big rainbow flag on the corner. The music was blasting, people were dancing, drinking, laughing, kissing all on the streets of Frisco. It was nothing short of beautiful. For blocks and blocks you could see nothing but a massive sea of people. It was like nothing I had ever experienced. After a long night of dancing, singing, and laughing we headed back to the hotel to catch up on some zzz's.
