It was around 5PM when we finished at the castle, and we had seen that Peju, which Veronica had also recommended that morning, was open until 6, so after brief stops at Beringer to phtograph the Rhine house and the Niebaum house of Coppola's winery, we found ourselves here for our final tasting of the day.
Peju was SO MUCH FUN! Seemed like a much younger crowd, but perhaps because it was so late in the day and most people had already decided to call it a day. We wandered around looking at the different rooms, not sure if it was one station per wine or what...so we asked and were lead to the one bar that was just getting started on their wine tasting set. We had a couple of very nice wines here, and some nice conversation with some people who were in the area working for Intel! I have to feel soorry for them...they were in San Jose from Colorado Springs...and turns out that a few days later, they announced the closure of the San Jose fab!
I truly enjoyed the Cabernet Franc here, and we bought a bottle, along with my required souvenier (no magnet, so just a coaster...same as at the castle).
By the time we left, it was already 6:20 and the winery was closed...and we were both hungry...so off we went to return to Napa and score some dinner.
