Another viewpoint and the drive up through Marin
We could have spent forever in the Marin Headlands, going from viewpoint to viewpoint, but we wanted to get up to Napa in time to check in to the hotel and have the wine reception before dinner. We also hoped to hit a winery first as well and beat traffic in the process, so we left the headlands and drove through Sausalito where we stopped for some pictures of the town and San Francisco across the bay.
Sausalito itself was gorgeous, with the houses all along the hillside and the breathtaking views onto the bay. It looks very artsy and high-end, but looks like a fun place to come on a day trip and enjoy a lunch or dinner on the water. Maybe next time...
From here we headed up 101 through the towns of Marin county like Novato before cutting over into Sonoma county and then into Napa!
