Sometimes, when you think of the past, it either hurts or makes you feel kinda sad, missing the moments. Within doing this here in TB, ya a little sad but actually gives good feelings to remember this and I am sure it enlightens others as well to have good memories. I appreciate this a lot in TB.

Easter celebration with lots of laughters and fun

Wow, what a fine Easter evening.

Easter, yes, we gathered at my Dutch Family, H & O house in Paramaribo where they were kind enough to cook and host as the geologist is more fond of cooking than rocks. We brought what we can including ourselves. We helped where we can especially watching them both cook, so much fun watching.

They are so good in hosting, I am what I am now in these intrinsic matters and cooking, all credit goes to them and my oma and opa. Well, an evening to remember. We made the table on their front balcony, facing the Anton Dragtenweg road and the Suriname river. All set, specially cooked Fun-Geo-tastic food, champagne, wine, you name it. Another friend of O, actually her boss from UN joined us that evening.

We had food, lots of lots of laughter and fun. We always do. When we are together, we are hmmmmm.... much like retards....ooooopppsss, i have not invited them into TB as yet, but they will not mind. Well, I guess the pictures shows it all, a thousand words.

As much time I have now, I wanted to spend putting all memories, travels, pictures, tips etc. for all TB's before I am taken away by work and perhaps death. I treasure all these.

Easter celebration with lots of laughters and fun

You see Antondragtenweg road and yes, me!

Remembering the old days, memory took me to how the lifestyle was in that part of the world. Being there, surrounded by different walks of life, there were we, so called, foreigners, expats, cooking some foreign food, Dutch oriented and having wine and champagne. Just remembered, what we talked about. Anything, basically. Was also sort of the early part of our relationship, getting to know each other.

Getting them to tolerate with my kinda culture, you know Asian, "Bolehlah", "easylah"...while they, my Dutch family is more of "early plan and schedule" - very European...ha ha ha. I remembered how 'difficult' it was initially to break the ice, the wall, the 'entry'. Interesting enough, i see lots more here in Germany.

Correct me if I m wrong, people in this part of the world, are a little detached to 'inside' and are more structured, scheduled that they follow 'systems' whereas people from the other side of the world, like East influenced are a little more warmer, less wall around them, warmth people, more touch base 'inside'.

Cheers.............
I guess I am writing this because it was a different scenario coming to think about it when we were a little 'group' within the 'masses' in Suriname and yet we created our own world. We had some much of laughter and fun, to the envy of all the critters around, all the mosquitos who were thinking sthinkingly to strike or not. But it was a wonderful evening. The mosquitos in Paramaribo actually comes out and attacks between 7 to 8pm. That is so amazing. They are a nuisance, totally but after 8pm you don't feel them anymore. Only, near the river mouth beach, called Matapica, mosquitos basically engulf/cover you totally stinging like bees and you can hardly see the person, as the mosquitos cover them. It is a pianful experience though.

Just remembered, the good old golden days. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa the smell of food, the sight of wonderful people, champagne, fruits, desserts, the hammock waiting just next to me, what a wonderful world....ooopppssss back to reality, goddamn, there is no hammock here, it is cold here.........Germany, what a change to South America.
