The second day in down under. My brother and sister in law had to work, and we had planned had day with our 8 years old nephew. We asked him what he wants to do,and he, with the help of his mother, said that penguin island was very nice to visit and to relax. We took the rockingham coast route to the jetty where the ferry departs every hour for a five min trip to the island. During the captain explained what we can find on the island and how late the last ferry departs to the main land. You can walk to the island on the sandbar, but later at the day with high tide and wind it is dangerous.
Loaded with bad towels, snorkeling equipment, suncream and the most important piece the camera we went on the ferry and cross the bay to penguin island.
We used the time to walk across the island, snorkeling and relax on the beach. After we visited the discovery center we walked to the another side of the island where we found little penguins and big lizards, pelicans and a lot of seagulls.During our trip to the main land the staff of the ferry had to do a shoe rescue.Somebody of a another ferry lost his shoe during getting on the boat, and his shoe was floating away. And in Holland it is bad luck by by shoe, but here they took the time to pick up his shoe and deliver it to the person without a problem( no worries).
