A Week in the Caribbean
August 6, 2008
So my husband deployed in the spring and summer of 2008 to Ecuador and Curacao. While he was in Curacao, I came to visit him for a week. I got to take some nice sunset photos. It was tricky though, because the sun sets really fast! You would see that it was about to go down, then when you went to get the camera, the sun was practically gone! On top of that, the beach at our hotel (as far as I know it was just there, but it could easily happen all over the island) was a target for big, black mosquitos. As soon as the sun was gone, they would appear and bite you. If you didn't have bug spray on, you were screwed. We were chased inside a few times because of this. So if you ever go to Curacao, bring some bug spray and make sure you have it handy at sundown.
