Fredericksburg, Texas (Nov.2010)

While in Fort Stockton, I decided I wanted to visit one of two places before San Antonio; the first was San Marcos, which turned out to be a little too far off our path. The second was Fredericksburg a beautiful German Town in southern Texas. I decided on Fredericksburg, the decision was unregretable. The beautiful town has old historic buildings and German heritage mixed together creating a town where adventure can be rich.

We took time walking along Main street and visiting 4 of the churches in the town. What was frustrating was finding that most of the churches were closed. Nonetheless, we had a great time touring the city. It is a clean city I must add. We sat down to a wonderful lunch at a German restaurant (check out my independent review on the restauarnt), the food was delectable, reminded me of Germany and my time in Bayern.

Fredericksburg, is an old town, established in 1846 by German settlers, its heritage is evident in its style and charms.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain.
