Fort Stockton was our overnight stop on our road trip to San Antonio, Texas. After an eight hours drive from Tucson to Fort Stockton, we decided to check in to a Motel 6 to break the trip. I had not heard of this town up until 2 days before the trip. Mark (Mark184) had decided to reserve a room for us for ne night since we did not want to drive all they way to San Antonio without stopping. We had my 6 year old daughter, it was tough keepiing her in the car for 8 hours, so 4 more hours was going to be hell. That aside, both the driver and I, were done for being in the car.
Fort Stockton is a small town in the county of Pecos in Texas. With a population of less than 10,000 people, it is considered a small town. It has its charms and attractions, but since we were on a mission to get somewhere, we did not spend much time seeing the town.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain.
