Special Reason..

3 years of thinking; should I go or not? What do I have to do alone? Isn’t it scary? Where do I have to stay? All these questions were in my head. It has been a dream of me to go to the capital of Mode. To visit the nice buildings and much more.

Finally I made a decision and I just went. I booked a flight with ryanair and booked a hostel.

18 January 2008, the day of departure. First we had to drive to Dusseldorf-Weeze to Milan-Bergamo.

I arrived in the afternoon at the airport, and because I’ve never been there, and always when I go on holiday, I don’t prepar anything.. I didn’t know what to do! Fortunately, I speak some italian words so I came on the right way and in normal time at the hostel!

And took a bus to the centre of Milano, and asked there which metro I need to go to the Hostel.

I just went by metro in Barcelona, last year, I was with a friend.. so he knew how it works and I just walk behind him!

And this time, this time, I had to figure it out all by myself!

When I was at the metro station, I was looking like: Where the hell am I ??

Two spanish boys saw me looking like that and they asked: Can we help you??

I said: Omg yes please !! They bought a onerailway ticket for me and said: you need the green line! I walked behind them, to the green line.. and at that moment I saw 4 dutch people who were in the same plane as I was.. they said: is everything oke? Uhh just a bit! And they told the way the need to go.. the other side of the city, the green line, the same as the spanish boys!

When the metro arrived, they said: you need this one! I said uhh sorry Ill wait for the next one, cause I knew this was the wrong one..

Finally after walking 10 minutes between the stations.

It was a good hostel, it was also the first time for me in a hostel.. a little strange but it was oke!! Changed clothes, put some make up on my face and went outside!

The first feeling of Milano, GREAT!!  I loved it immediately. I went to the centre of Milano, at the duomo! This was a great place, really big square and with a lot of beautiful architecture! I just looked around and made some pictures.. beautiful!

It was already a bit dark.. so making pictures was difficult with the simple camera! It’s just to give an impression ;) And the most beautiful thing for me was: Vittorio Emanuel, the shopping centre, really big! And with great shops!!

After a short walk and sitting in the dark and waiting for Rodrigo we finally met eachother! It was difficult to find, cause I didn’t know all the shops over there but it worked out !

He was the first TB member I’ve met in real life! He asked me what I already saw: Nothing! Oké, let’s go do some sightseeing! We walked, had some nice chat about everything!! He is really a nice person.

We went to the ‘fort/caslte’, really beautiful to see!! It’s a nice place to walk there.. and we saw the canals, this is a place where all the young people go out in the evening, it was a bit early and cold.. so at that moment it was quiet!

And we  were really hungry, but couldn’t find a nice place to eat a real italian pizza. Oke later we found something and sit over there.. just to eat something! It was nice J

He showed me so much more buildings and places, like the Città della moda.

It was all beautiful and didn’t know where to look. When the night ‘finished’ we decided to drink something in a caffè to finish this great day!

19 january 2008:

The really most important biggest and weirdest day every in my life! And Why, I’ll tell you.....

In the morning I decided to take the metro to the Stadion of AC MILAN!  The club I really like! When I came upstairs.

Woe!.. there was a man! And he said: Walk this way.. follow the wall and you will see it! BUT! It’s a long walk.. I did this walk.. and yes it’s long! Maybe it’s better to go out the other station!

It was a nice place to walk around, a bit cold.. but you couldnt expect something else in january! And it was really quiet.. early in the morning!

Maybe after 30 minutes? I arrived the stadion! But.. there were so many big buildings, I didn’t know it! I walked for a few minutes over there.. it was all nice to see! And finally I knew this is the stadion of AC MILAN! Great to see it once!!

I walked back to the metro station and went to the Duomo. First I went to a pub to eat and drink something.. I made the same pictures as the day before, but it was light outside.. you can see so much more!

Maybe 2 or 3 hours later I arrived at the Piazza il Duomo.

The sun was shining and it was such a nice weather! I sat in the front of the duomo.. it was about 1300 o’clock. And I waited and waited. Didn’t know what to do.. but no problem, it was even nice to just sit in the sun and watch the people.

I sent a sms to Davide.. A guy I knew since 4 years of the internet but we’ve never met in real life before.

He sent a sms back that he will be there at 15.30! So still waiting so long time.

If you walk or sit there alone.. there are a lot of people coming to you and ask if he can sit next to you. I did it a few times.. really nice to talk with the people there.. but difficult! Not everyone talked english.. oké, I tried in Italian!

Davide said to me he will come there with other davide and at the horses in the front of the duomo.

Omg.. I was so scared, happy and excited to meet him! And the biggest problem for me was.. Do I recognize him???

Normally I don’t see anything of a disctance of 25 meters, but this time: I saw him walking and didn’t know what to do, I was so afraid!

I walked to him.. and he was soooo lovely!! It’s a strange thing to meet someone you know for 4 years on the internet but never seen in real life,  it was a great time! But it means so much to me.

They showed me the other side of milano.. we went to the shopping centres where they buy the clothes,  and not in Gucci or D&G, even that I like that haha.

 The time went so fast! At 19.

Then I went back to the hostel.. and said goodbye to them! I HATE THAT!!

I changed my clothes in the hostel, and at about 21.00 o’clock I went back to the Duomo to have a small dinner, mac donalds! I wanted to go out, but I didn’t know anyone there I could come with. Rodrigo had to stay home, and davide had a girlfriend...

In the mac I’ve met two egypt boys who live in milano.. We talked a bit and they gave the number, I should go out with them.. but I didn’t.

The reason:

I sent a Sms to Davide, if I could meet him again.. just to say something necessary! I said I like to meet in the front of the hostel, it was oke! He should call me when he arrived.

Then he went back to his friends, and went out! I didn’t wanna go out and go to bed!

20 january 2008:

This was the last day in Milano! I had to wake up early and prepared for leaving. Just went to the duomo to see this for the last time.. and I went back to the central station.. to search for a bus direction bergamo!

I found it immediatly and after one hour I arrived there! I met an german man and we like to visit the centre of bergamo! But we just had a short time, so I decided to dont go unfortunately! I hope to do that next time, cause I saw the pictures of him and it was really beautiful!

In the afternoon I arrived in holland.
