Sirmione, miss this place
Sirmione is a little town in the province Brescia, which is in the region Lombardy in the northern Italy. This little place is situated at the lowest part of Lake Garda. There are about 7280 inhabitants.
Lake Garda is a real touristic place in the summer, for the foreigners and the Italian people. Every night it’s busy in the historical centre of Sirmione. An Ice-cream shop here, and one over there. The only question what’s in your mind: which flavour do I want?
But we did not stay in the historical centre. Our apartment was situated just 15 minutes away of the centre, by car. We could rent this apartment of some friends, and we have been there several times. It’s just a lovely place, and I still miss it.
Our apartment had 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom a kitchen and the living room.
At this building there were more apartments and the people who lived there were only Italian people. That was the moment that I fell in love with Italy and the people. I met a girl, Elena, and we talked in English as far we could. After we wrote each other sometimes. She wrote always in Italian, but that was impossible to read for me. I started to learn some simple words and I just loved this language.
Fortunately I do understand the basic things right now!
The swimming pool is within a walk of 3 minutes. This was a private swimming pool so only for the people who were in the same building. When I was younger I loved to be there the whole day. When I became older, it started to change.
There is one castle, which is the port to the old centre, that I just love. This castle is called: Rocca Scaligera.
Somewhere in the middle of the holiday I decided to go to a camping Piani di Clodia to visit a friend. I knew her of my dance school in Arnhem. That day my parents and brother went to Verona to see one of the important Amphitheatre.
On the way back home we always go to a restaurant where they sell the best Kaiserschmarrn ever!
