I have been in Italy many times. Decided to put it all together in one blog, because these trips were only for 2 days or a holiday without doing anything

Florence day 1

Got my ticket, knew the number of my chair and just had to find a place for all my luggage. On the way to Bologna it went well, there was enough space and a friendly guy who helped me to get my luggage in the train. Unfortunately the train ride to Florence was a bit more complicated. It was too difficult to get my luggage in the boxes or in the train. I decided to sit down near the door, just waiting until we arrived over there.

I went to the Hostel. It was not so far away of the central station but I took a taxi. The hostel was great. Everything was so very clean and the people were really friendly. In my room there were some Canadian and American people. We had a little talk and after I went away. It was already late and the people were closing the shops, it was a bit quiet at the streets. I tried to find something for dinner, which wasn’t very easy.

There are just to many nice restaurants.

I have seen the Chiesa di San Lorenzo. Unfortunately I haven’t been inside so  can’t say anything about it. After I came at the Piazza del Duomo. Just walked upstairs, near me, behind me everywhere! It was beautiful. The building was very high and impressive. I knew, I have to go there again tomorrow but just need some sleep after my dinner!

Florence day 2

Rain, just rain! This is what I saw when I looked out the window of my room. But I’m in Florence, I have to go outside and explore the city.

Do you want an umbrella? Was the first question they said? But it did not stop after the first time.

Il Duomo
There are a lot of people who sells umbrella with this weather. My answer was no!

All the people were looking at me like I become crazy. Yes I was! Haha, totally wet and frozen, but I did not care.

I was walking around the duomo to find something to go inside. I saw a big group waiting to go inside the duomo, but what can you see there? Inside the church or go to the top? I just was wondering and decided to take a look at it.

It was possible to go to the top of the Duomo and have a great view. I did it, but what did I do to myself? It’s small, high and 1000 treads.

I lost some kg, were feeling hot again and a bit dizzy I finally arrived at the top of the duomo. And it’s really worth it. A great view, you can look everywhere, see the most important and nice things. Just great! Wow..

I stayed here for a little while and had to go downstairs again.

Piazza del Duomo

I walked further to Piazza della Repubblica. This is the place where I had my dinner the first day.

Then I wanted to walk further to the Ponte Vecchio, but saw some other nice buildings and sights. One of them is: Piazza della Signoria. This one is the most important square in Florence. One of the buildings you can find here is the Palazzo Vecchio. Tried to go inside but it was crowned by a lot of tourists, so I went back and visit the most famous fountain: Neptune who has been made by Michelangelo.

A 3 minutes walk away there was it, the Old Bridge. Or better known as the Ponte Vecchio. When you walk to the bridge you find a lot of locks who are made for the love couples to promises they will stay with each other. Then they throw they key way just to confirm their love.

Then I start walking around and saw another huge building.

Piazza del Duomo
Just searched in my book for what it was; Palazzo Pitti. I did not go inside since it was really busy and did not have that much time. And I guess this is not really my style.

After I walked back to the hostel, well I tried! And after a long, long, long walk I finally came there. In the evening I went to the city to have dinner together with the Canadian people.

Just a beautiful city.
