Brett's Arrival in San Francisco!
After getting up super early so I could get in a full work day, it was already afternoon time and I needed to get on the road to pick him up since his flight was arriving 30 minutes early! I've never parked at SFO so this would be interesting. The last time I picked up Liz (Quest) the traffic had been so bad, I was late getting there and she was already waiting for me outside! Traffic was suprising light for a holiday weekend and I arrived just as his plane landed. SWEET! Time to find parking, run in, and hopefully catch him as he came out of customs.
The walk from the International parking lot was rather long and I had high heeled sandals (bad idea) but I made it. I was there about 5 minutes before he walked through the doors.
I was trying to sneak a pic before he saw me but he spotted me right away. RATS! Poor thing though, you could tell he was tired and first thing he apologized for not getting a hair cut! HAHA. He was going to try before he left but ran out of time. LOL.After watching traffic on my drive over the Bay Bridge, I decided we would take the long scenic route over the Golden Gate Bridge to get to Napa. It was also so pretty out, one of the rare completely sunny days in San Francisco, so figured we better take advantage of it. I was so excited he was here and I got to show him my area of town!
We stopped at the GG area just across the bridge, on the side looking back into SF. What gorgeous views and much better parking than the side I usually stop on! We took some photos when Brett decided he wanted to venture up the road through the Marin County Headlands to see the view from up there.
We found the stop off point and it had a nice little trail (bad idea in my shoes though) - I clung to him for dear life walking up for fear I'd trip and break my ankle. The views were breathtaking and without a doubt, the prettiest day yet since I've lived up here. When my friend Michelle was out in September it was clear but still a bit chilly - today was absolutely perfect! Just a little breeze and nice and warm - I couldn't have special ordered more perfect weather! After goofing off a bit up there, we headed out on the road as I feared getting stuck in work traffic and I wanted to get to Napa before it was dark. We needed to check in between a certain time and there was scheduled to be a wine reception type deal that evening that I didn't want to miss.
