Today is my mums birthday so we rented a cottage by the beach. The beach it self on a small nature reseve called 'De Mond', meaning 'The mouth'. It is called this because it has a big lagoon snaking its way through the reserve before finally joing the sea. De mond has got to be one of my favourite beaches, if you are looking for peace and tranquility this is certainly the place! You very rarely see anyone else here!! There are great fish in the sea and river (We managed to catch some great fish in the river which we put on the braai - yum! ), flamingo's flying around estuary, clean soft beaches, great walks around the reserve where you can see loads of wild life, everything from eland to penguins! The actual beach is a little walk down the river, across a big swing bridge, which if you are dying for a swim in the big pond is a little annoying but its still deffinatley a great place to visit.
On the way bach home, we went via Cape l'Agulas, the southern most point of africa! There really is nothing there except yet another nature reserve, a few ship wrecks, one of which is actually quite impressive! loads of shells, some great vews, some aweful arcitecture (every time I have been there i think this!) a brilliant old light house, and loads of wind!!! Its not called the Cape of Storms for nothing!! Have a look at the pictures! :)
