Shangai's Fuxing Park,a place to kick back and relax!

The Fuxing Park(gongyuan) ,situated in Luwan ,a little off Huaihai Road,famous for its restaurants and fashion shops,was a part of the former French concession area and was opened to the French people on the 14th July 1909.
Nowadays everybody can enjoy the only French style park in Shangai which provides a relative calmness and shelter from the sun in the hottest months of the year.
It is a popular place among old people especially in the morning:you can see number of people doing exercises,either in a group or as an individual,doing Tai Chi,practising stretching,taking their caged birds for a stroll,playing cards,chess or mahjong,just walking and reading,but also couples practising ballroom and groups singing...
You may aso see kids playing ,in particular, badminton(there are children playgrounds with a junglegym,carousel...) and lovers strolling hand in hand...
This place, opened from 0600 to 1800, is reached by Metro:Huangpi nanlu and buses 12,24,42,526,911.
It is also a nightlife area with nightclubs and restaurant.The sophisticated bar and restaurant Park 97 is a famous one.
Also ,the ShanghArt Gallery opened in 1996 has grown to become one of China's most famous Art Contemporary institutions and participates in major international art fairs.
