New York City 5 days

New York City has also been my dream and I finally got there! I was surprised at how beautiful it was. I was expecting it to be dirty, smoggy and the people to be rude but I just always wanted to go. It was actually really clean and central park is so beautiful! The people are really nice and helpful.
I had booked a hostel not realising it was in Harlem! Even though the plumbing was bad and there was only a few white people there I decided to stay. I'm glad I did though because it was a different side to Manhattan than most people see. I didnt feel unsafe where I was but I did get told I wouldn't want to go any further in to Harlem on my own. I found everyone to be friendly although a lot of people did stare only because I don't think too many white people go their unless they're on a bus doing a tour.
While I was in NYC I went to the David Letterman Show. I had applied for tickets over the net and they called me a few days before and I had to answer a simple question about the show and I got the tickets. When I got there there were people from the show in times square giving away tickets if you answered the question so it's not hard to get. I got to see Alec Baldwin and Faith Hill which was good.
I wish I was there longer but I got to do most of the touristy things, times square, 5th ave, empire state building, brooklyn bridge, madison square gardens, macys, circle line ferry and central park (only a small part though because it's so big!). I also did a TV & movie set tour and my favourite thing I did, the Sex and the City tour!!! They were filming the movie while I was there but unfortunately never got to see them. Got to go to Carries front door step, the pub and the sex shop. Both tours were cheap and so much fun! Went to so many places on the TV & movie set tour including the friends building! These tours were also good to see Greenwich village, Chelsea and Soho.
I want to go back again I fell in love with the place! I really want to see it in winter and be in times square on New Years. One day I will get there again :)
